I always love Church's Chicken since I was introduced to it several years ago while visiting Tennessee. The Fontana restaurant is the closest one to me. The shopping center it's located in is run down, and the eating area is small and average in cleanliness. However, the chicken (original flavor) is great as always. Prices post pandemic have gone up, and I can't tell if the seasoning has changed a little or maybe it was just the crew in my most recent visit. My ALL time favorite is the fried okra, something I miss from my southern roots.
Wifey loves fried chicken!Trust I do as well.Random story time...I lived off of the notorious El Cajon blvd for about close to a year during middle school.Imagine being 10yrs old and otw to skool prostitutes hitting u up for some(chicken?!) Stayed at an apt on that street with my now famous cuzn.For reals she's all over billboards in Daygo.Looking back at it definitely a glitch in our childhood years.Anywhoo at da end of our block was Church's chicken.Whenever I had $3 I ran down the street got me a drumstick and small mash potatoes&gravy.Crazy right?! $3 nowadays gets u maybe 1 piece of chicken.Nostalgia plays a role with my 4 star rating besides we are talking Fried Chicken!
Located on Merrill Ave in Fontana. I did the drive thru for convenience. I noticed their Texas 2 pc feast for $8.48 and ordered that in original flavor. It comes with a large drink of your choice, one classic side (I chose fries) and the buttery biscuit. Sorry that I forgot to take a picture of the chicken, but I haven't had Church's chicken in a long time. It's so crunchy, flavorful and delicious that it was done in a heart beat! LOL. Eating this, brought back fond memories eating their chicken with my family. They have a Holi Deals Family Meal for 10 pieces of chicken, 2 large sides & 5 biscuits for $22.99, which is a lot cheaper than their competitors.
I help volunteer with driving a few seniors to get food . One gentleman wanted some fried chicken . Right when church's open we pulled into the drive through window . The first day was a young lady who helped us and the second day a young gentleman. The intercom sounded crisp , both spoke clear. We order the special 10 piece leg/ thigh meal combo $22 . The next day one of the senior gentleman craving church's chicken again.
